OPENAI ARE BUILDING A TOOL FOR CONTENT CREATORS TO OPT-OUT OF AI TRAINING

OpenAI, the artificial intelligence research company behind the viral chatbot ChatGPT, has announced plans to develop a tool that will allow content creators to opt-out of having their work used to train AI models.

The move comes amid growing concerns from artists, writers, and other creators about the potential misuse of their intellectual property by AI systems without consent or compensation. Many have raised ethical and legal questions about the practice of training AI on copyrighted material scraped from the internet.

While details are still scarce, OpenAI says the tool will give creators a way to flag their content as off-limits for AI training purposes. The company aims to balance the need for large language models to learn from a diverse range of data with respecting intellectual property rights.
